Opening for Private Prayer

The Church is open at specified times for private (individual) prayer.

The schedule for opening is at the bottom of this page.

Please read the following before visiting.

Important

Do not come to visit the church if you are shielding as clinically extremely vulnerable, or displaying any of the Covid-19 symptoms (cough, raised temperature, loss of taste or smell).

If you visit and subsequently test positive for Covid-19, let Fr John know, or contact the office, immediately.

Guidance on visiting

The government description of what is permitted is the following. Individual prayer within a place of worship is defined as a person or household entering the venue to pray on their own and not as part of a group, led prayer or communal act. They should be socially distanced from other individuals or households. You can see the full government guidance here

When you visit, please follow these rules:

  1. On entry, use the hand sanitiser gel provided. If you are allergic to alcohol based hand sanitised you should bring your own..

  2. Do not wear gloves.

  3. Maintain 2 metres distancing from those not in your household, at all times.

  4. Touch as few surfaces as possible: do not touch the Icon, Stations, or anything on the Sanctuary.

  5. Children must be accompanied and managed carefully.

  6. Sit only in the designated places.

  7. Sit only with members of your own household.

  8. Do not have conversations with other people.

  9. Face coverings are not required; however, if you have one, please use it as it may provide protection to others.

  10. On leaving, use the hand sanitiser gel provided.

The toilets are closed.

Stewards will be on hand to keep everyone safe, to guide you and answer any concerns you may have.
