The CAFOD Group Exists to promote & support the work of CAFOD at parish level. CAFOD raises money to finance:
· long term development work with some of the world's poorest communities
· immediate work for people affected by emergencies such as war & natural disasters,
· analysis of the causes of underdevelopment, & campaigns on behalf of the world's poor
· education that raises awareness of the causes of third world poverty & how to bring about change
Support through prayer & liturgy is of equal importance to all the above. The parish group meets about 3 or 4 times a year to plan social & fundraising events, ways of engaging in campaigns, & liturgies. Anyone interested is welcome to be involved. Meetings will be printed in the parish bulletin, and there is information on the CAFOD notice board.
